Maria Hlavati
(Pančevo, 1975)

Maria Hlavati was born on May 25, 1975, in Pančevo. She completed technical high school for economists and started painting when she was 17. She has been painting since.

Maria predominantly oil paints but also uses dry pastel, graphic, and often applied art. She has created her original art expression and thus she often paints landscapes, sunflowers, fields, and lately mushrooms and proud roosters as symbols of new life, birth, etc.

Maria became a member of the Gallery in 2013, and she actively participates in the presentation of naïve art, both with collective and individual exhibitions. She has so far had exhibitions in France, Italy, Slovakia, Czech Republic, and Romania. She received an award in Varenna, Italy (2011) as the best foreign painter and awards at the 5th International Exhibition in Lapovo (2011). She is a donor at numerous humanitarian actions regarding children living in poverty.
