Zuzana Vereski
(Padina, 1955)

Zuzana Vereski was born on January 3, 1955, in Padina, but since 1980 she has been living and working in Kovačica.

She painted her first painting in childhood, and the first exhibition was held in 1984. In 1986, she became a member of the Gallery of Naïve Art and in 1993 a member of the Museum of Naïve Art in Jagodina. She has had many individual and collective exhibitions in Serbia and abroad, and her 45th individual exhibition set in the Gallery of Naïve Art in 2013 is a retrospect of her work and creations made with her brush and colors.

Her paintings mainly show the images of life in the village and so there are work in the field, old crafts, life in a household, mothers with children, children playing, etc. Zuzana paints best the images she knows best, follows her instincts, and tells stories with each painting. There are seasons changing but almost all paintings contain a basket and a bouquet of oversized flowers, most often poppies, and then sunflowers, birds, women in colorful Slovak traditional clothes riding a bike, etc.

As an artist, Zuzana was a part of numerous projects and she participated with her work in Israel, Cyprus, Germany, Tunisia, Paris (UNESCO), Geneva (UNICEF), New York (UN), Brussels (EU), Strasbourg, Vienna (OSCE), Washington (IMF), Kina (Expo 2010 Shanghai), Spain, Slovakia, etc.
