OPEN EXHIBITION IN PANČEVO – MARTIN JONAŠ

On Thursday, December 16, at 7 pm, in the National Museum of Pančevo, was opened a
solo exhibition of paintings by the great naive art – Martin Jonaš.
The representative exhibition consists of 17 original paintings made in oil on canvas
technique, 8 graphics, painted plates that Jonas collected during his life, recognitions and
diplomas, as well as personal items of the master artist.
The audience from Pančevo has the opportunity to see the premiere of the painting “The
Kovačica`s Process” from 1957, which was restored in the previous months by the conservator
of the National Museum of Pančevo, Gordana Đurađević Prvanov, and which has not been
exhibited for many years due to damage.
The exhibited paintings are primarily from the collection of the Gallery of Naive Art from
Kovačica, the Memorial House of Martin Jonas, and the Gallery of Framed Memories from
Kovačica.

The exhibition is accompanied by a catalog with professional texts about Martin Jonaš
and reproductions of exhibited works.
At the opening talk about the painter Miroslav Birclin – director of the National Museum
Pancevo, Ana Žolnaj Barca – director of the Gallery of Naive Art, Jano Čech – the owner of the
gallery Framed Memories and Branislav Atanacković – president of the Cultural Council of
Kovačica.
The exhibition will be available to visitors of the National Museum until the end of January 2022.
